Buying a Ford in Cottonwood and the Verde Valley
Cottonwood, Clarkdale and the rest of the Verde Valley are about an hour from me in Dewey. Before you make that drive, I’ll send you a video walkaround of the exact vehicle and answer every question by text, so the trip is worth it.
Verde Valley drivers deal with everything from the switchbacks up to Jerome to dirt roads out toward Sycamore Canyon. A lot of my conversations here are about off-road capability and comfortable everyday driving in the same vehicle.
Route: Hwy 260, I-17 and Hwy 169. Distances and times are approximate.
What Cottonwood drivers ask me about
Fords That Fit Life in Cottonwood
Common pick
Ford Bronco
Built for the Verde Valley’s rough backroads, with removable doors and roof for nice-weather days.
Common pick
Ford Bronco Sport
A smaller, easier-to-park SUV that still handles graded dirt roads and the drive up to Jerome.
Common pick
Ford F-150
For anyone towing a camper, boat or trailer through the valley.
The Drive
Take Highway 260 to I-17 at Camp Verde, head south to Highway 169, and follow it west into Dewey. You can also come over Mingus Mountain on 89A, which is slower but a great drive in a new truck.
Coming From Cottonwood
I don’t want you making the drive unless you’re confident it’s the right vehicle. Text me what you’re looking at and I’ll send a video walkaround of that exact vehicle, plus photos of anything you want to see up close. Once you’ve decided, book a time and it’ll be ready when you arrive. Ask me what out-of-town options are available for the rest of the process.

Can you do the walkaround on video?
Yes. I’ll film the vehicle you’re interested in, point out the features that matter to you, and send it over by text or email.
