2026 Ford Compact Truck
Ford
Maverick
A small, efficient truck for people who don’t need a big one.
The Maverick is a compact pickup built on a car-like platform. It drives like an SUV, parks like a sedan, and the standard hybrid is rated up to 42 mpg in the city.
It’s a great truck for a lot of people. It just isn’t a travel trailer truck, and I’ll always be straight with you about that.
I sell new and used Mavericks in Dewey, near Prescott, to buyers from all over Arizona. Don’t see the exact one you want? Text me anyway. I’ll tell you what’s available and what your options are.

What It’s Great For

From Ford’s published 2026 specs. Maximums apply to properly equipped vehicles only. Always confirm on the specific vehicle.
Hybrid or EcoBoost? If you mostly drive in town, the hybrid’s fuel economy is hard to beat. If you want AWD with more power, or the Tremor, the 2.0L EcoBoost is the pick.
The 4K Tow Package matters. Without it, a Maverick is rated at 2,000 lbs.

Which Travel Trailers Can It Tow?
I sell Rockwood, R-Pod and Winnebago travel trailers too. Here’s how a few real floor plans line up against the Maverick’s max tow rating of 4,000 lbs.
| Travel trailer | GVWR | vs. 4,000 lbs |
|---|---|---|
| R-Pod RP-153 | 4,524 lbs | Over |
| Winnebago Micro Minnie 2108DS | 5,500 lbs | Over |
| R-Pod RP-206 | 6,229 lbs | Over |
| Rockwood Ultra Lite 2606WS | 8,542 lbs | Over |
Good fit: GVWR at or under 80% of the max tow rating (my rule of thumb). Tight: under the rating without much margin. Over: above it. Compared against the Maverick’s maximum rating; your vehicle may be rated lower, and payload has to be checked separately.
FAQ
Questions I Get a Lot
How much can a Ford Maverick tow?
2,000 lbs standard, or 4,000 lbs with the available 4K Tow Package on XL, XLT and Lariat. The Lobo and Tremor are rated at 2,000 lbs.
Can a Maverick tow a travel trailer?
Generally no. Even a small R-Pod like the RP-153 has a published GVWR of 4,524 lbs, above the Maverick’s 4,000-lb max. A Maverick is better suited to utility trailers, small boats or a very small teardrop.
What mpg does the Maverick hybrid get?
EPA-estimated 42 city, 35 highway and 38 combined mpg for the FWD hybrid. AWD hybrids are rated slightly lower.
